Peer reviewers are the backbone of the scholarly publishing process. NexTerra Academia deeply values the time, expertise, and commitment that reviewers bring to maintaining research quality and integrity across our journals.
Reviewer Guidelines
- Expertise match: Confirm that your expertise covers the topic of the manuscript before accepting the invitation.
- Conflict of interest: Decline if a conflict exists with any author — including relationships with advisors/advisees, colleagues at your institution, family members, or collaborators within the last ten years.
- Suggest alternatives: When declining, you are welcome to recommend an alternative qualified reviewer.
- Timeliness: Upon accepting, you will be given two weeks to complete your review. Reviewers who do not respond within the deadline may be removed from the active database.
- Constructive feedback: Provide specific, evidence-based feedback that helps authors improve their work.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscript and review process.
- Report concerns: Notify the editor immediately of any ethical concerns, suspected plagiarism, or data integrity issues.
Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, scientific rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal's scope, soundness of methodology, and significance of findings. Recommendations may include: accept, revision, resubmission, or rejection.
Recognition
All reviewers are acknowledged through the ReviewerCredits platform and through annual reviewer listings published on journal websites. We are committed to ensuring that reviewers receive appropriate recognition for their essential role in scholarly publishing.
